Vulkanland Steiermark DAC regional wine
The mild climate and the volcanic soils do what they can while the expertise of Stefan Krispels does the rest. Despite their playfulness and a certain lightweight feel, these are wines with distinctness and a quite definite typicity. This is due to the ageing in steel tanks or large wooden barrels. Stimulating and full of life.
Straden Vulkanland Steiermark DAC village wine
When you drink one of these wonderful wines, you’ll be experiencing something you can only call ‘character’. The young vines grow in the vineyards surrounding Straden. The Ortsweine wines are allowed to age in large wooden barrels or a steel tank for 9 to 12 months. They have appreciable structure and their fine piquancy brings them to life.
Single-Vineyard Vulkanland Steiermark DAC
The single-vineyard wines are the pride of the winery. Their attributes are formed by the soils and the mesoclimate of each vineyard. The best single-vineyard wines of Stefan Krispel are grown in an amphitheatre-like landscape facing the village of Straden. These vineyards are Ziegel, Rosenberg, Seindling, Neusetzberg and Hochstrandl while in Bad Gleichenberg there is the Kaargebirge vineyard. These wines are allowed to age for at least 12 months in large or small wooden barrels.
